Matt: How come you’re reading about lead? I thought you were reading blogs.

Laura: This one writes about things in the news that are of interest to parents.

Matt [because the TV is on and he's looking at yahoosports.com]: ….

Laura: It says if you live in an older building, you should let the water run for a minute before drinking or cooking. And you should only use cold water from the tap because hot water leaches more lead.

Matt: ….

Laura: We live in an older building. This pertains to us.

Matt: But we have a new basement. How can anything be wrong?

Laura [rolls eyes]: It also says even tiny amounts of lead are linked to brain damage in children.

Matt: ….

Laura: Brain damage! In children!

Matt: I wonder if I should start Favre or Brees.

Very true about the lead – I think it’s something like homes before 1977 are ones to consider. It may be worthwhile to get one of those ‘lead test’ kids from the local store and test it on a hot water sample. Re: kids ingesting lead, true it’s not good, but they need to take in a considerable amount before it affects nerve growth. FYI, builder Dave

As an Australia-based Saints fan, I found your blog on google and read a few of your other Saints posts.
I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.
