Squirrel in the wall haiku
November 3rd, 2008
I had to Google the syllable count, since I couldn’t remember from junior high English. It’s 5-7-5. Feel free to write your own haiku in the comments.
Scritch scratch scritch scuttle
Something’s in the wall again
Die, Sonofabitch
I also had to reverse catnamedpig.com’s longstanding No Swearing Policy, in order for my haiku to fully express the sentiment this creature inspires.

Sit there eating nuts
Why are you so wiley, man?
You or I must go

Mice and rodents squirm,
And together they must die-
Best to be still now.
(NB, I never understood Haikus and why people do them. That said, I just did my first)

Yeah, the above was my first haiku as well. I don’t know really know why either. I guess it was more elegant than a whole post of swear words strung together, which was my other option as I sat there listening to it last night.
