I am totally changing my answer. I had never really thought to do it before but now I download podcasts (a lot from NPR) and put them on my ipod and listen to them on my hour long commute to work. They are great. So now I think the longer the better!

I listen to podcasts that are anywhere from 5 minutes (NYT Morning Headlines) to over an hour long (The B.S. Report). Length does not matter to me, as well, as I'll listen as I'm doing other things - in the yard, at work, in the car.

I listen for the content. If it's interesting to me, and it's a longer one, I'll come back to it later, if I can't do it in one sitting. My problem, at this moment, is that I have 3 days of content I need to get through...and I've deleted some to shorten it.

I agree with Nikki - although I just listen to yours in the background while I work on other things so the length is irrelevant to me. I think the bigger issue is that people will either like the idea of a podcast or they won't. My family - does. My inlaws - don't. Maybe they're not allowed to skim... ;)

I think that between ten to fifteen minutes is an ideal time for a podcast- not just yours, but anybody's. Twenty minutes is about the max. I really enjoy the podcasts but find that I need to multitask while listening to them. If I try to just sit and listen to them they can seem long, but if I am looking at people's pictures on Facebook or flickr while listening to it, then I don't get bored at all and enjoy listening to people talk at length.
