Watch this. No, seriously, watch this.

I’ve been talking about work a lot lately, so instead of telling you that I’ve been too busy working this week to post anything here, I’ll just say we’ve been too busy constructing this in our basement:
No, seriously, watch it again. And then come over and watch it with Elliot, because he hasn’t stopped asking about it since the second it ended the last time he watched. Siena’s pretty obsessed too.

I’ve long appreciated Rube Goldberg anything…but I’ve always thought that resetting them up has to be the worst job on the planet. For their creation, double that sentiment.

In high school physics, we did a Rube Goldberg where we had to turn on a light bulb. It would work one out of three times. The day we had to have it done, it was working maybe two of three times. We had to duct tape something near go time, as it wasn’t staying where it should every time, so we added some extra duct tape where it wasn’t necessarily needed and damned if it didn’t work the next four times we needed it, including the graded run.
So duct tape is the first thing I think of when Rube Goldberg comes up.
